The Admission Process

Admission Policy

1. The St. Augustine Catholic Primary School welcomes applications from parents of children of all denominations and faiths, as well as those of no particular faith background.

2. In order to have a child admitted to the St. Augustine School, parents or guardians are required to complete the school’s application form and return it to the school office, with the following required documents:

    • Child’s original birth certificate,
    • Baptismal certificate (if available)
    • Immunization record
    • Transfer form (if the child is transferring from another local primary school)
    • Last school report (if child is entering Grades 1 – 6)
    • A record of conduct (if not shown on the last school report)
    • A completed School Fee Payment Arrangement Form

The application form must be submitted together with a non-refundable application fee of EC$50 and a tuition fee deposit of EC$100 per child. If your child is not admitted to the school, the tuition fee deposit will be refunded. If the child is admitted to the school, the application fee will be automatically credited as a part payment of school fees for the child’s first term at the school.

5. Children will be admitted to the school, for the first time, up to and including the 2nd week of Term 2. Thereafter, persons seeking admission would need to prove that they have just relocated from overseas for the purposes of work/migration. Transfers from another primary school will be subject to the same criteria and terms of admission.

6. Priority for Admission: If there are more applications than the number of spaces available at the school, children will be admitted in order of the criteria below:

i. A baptized Catholic child or one currently enrolled in a programme of preparation for baptism into the Catholic Church.

ii. A child who will have a sibling in the school at the time of their admission. (‘Sibling’ means a brother or sister, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, step brother or sister, or a child of the parent/carer’s partner where the child for whom the school place is sought is living in the same family unit at the same address as that sibling.)

iii. A child whose normal residence is with at least one parent/guardian who is a baptized Catholic. (A parent/guardian is any person who has parental responsibility for, or is the legal guardian of, the child.)

iv. Any other child whose parent/guardian wishes him/her to have a place at the school and agrees that the child will be educated within the Catholic Christian ethos.

7. The School Board reserves the right to admit and re-admit students to the St. Augustine School.

Fees

School Fees Policy

Introduction

The St.Augustine Roman Catholic School is a private assisted school, which promotes faith-based  spiritual and moral direction as well as excellence in both academic and non-academic pursuits  of all its pupils.

Parents are asked to make a commitment to financially support the education of their children by paying fees.   No distinction is made between families at the St. Augustine Primary School based on financial circumstances.

The School Board has approved the collection of school fees from parents as an necessary contribution to the costs of delivering the high-quality education offered at the School.

For the purpose of this policy, School Fees shall be considered to be tuition fees and other charges asset outin the “ScheduleofFees”,

All matters of school fee payment will be handled confidentially and sensitively by the School Finance Officer inconjunction withthe Principal.

Payment Of Fees

In order to meet the operational costs of the school, it is necessary that school fees be paid in a timely manner.

On or before the beginning of each school year, a Payment Arrangement Form will be sent to the  parents/guardian of each pupil registered at the school.  Parents should sign and return the fee payment arrangement within one week of receipt.

Families have the option of paying tuition fees in one of the following ways:

Plan 1.

ANNUAL Payment: tuition fees for the school year are paid in full in one lump sum at the beginning of the school year. The annual tuition fees will be discounted by 2% for those persons who opt for a lump sum annual fee payment.

Plan 2.

TERMLY Payments: the tuition fees for each term are paid in full at the beginning of each school term (that is, on or before the ending of the first week of each school term in September, January and April).

Plan 3.

MONTHLY Payments: the annual tuition fees are paid by a maximum of nine (9) monthly payments. Each monthly payment is to be made by the first

    • Pants: Grades K to 2 – short khaki pants
    • Grades to 6 – long khaki pants
